The Manager role in Grovo empowers your managers to drive a learning culture with their direct reports.
Ready to assign the Manager role? Here’s everything you need to know!
Before you can assign the role, you’ll need to set up the ‘Reports to’ attribute. This is a prerequisite for using the Manager role.
- The ‘Reports to’ attribute is how Grovo understands the structure of your organization, specifically manager and reporting relationships.
- This field must contain the Employee ID of the manager the user reports to.
What is the Manager role?
Manager is a standard role that can be assigned to users or groups.
-
A Manager assigned this role will only be able to see their direct reports in the Campaigns, Assignments, and Reports sections of the platform.

Do Managers have create access?
No, the Manager role does not have create access. You can assign both “Creator” and “Manager” roles to a user if you need. However, the user will then be able to publish lessons to the entire organization.
Can Managers plan and assign Campaigns?
A Manager can assign Campaigns to any user that is labeled as their direct report based on the ‘Reports to’ attribute.

What reporting data is available for Managers?
A Manager can only view direct reports in the 'detail’ reports and when able to filter by user or group, the filter is limited to only users that report to them.
