The voice-over function in the Create tool gives you the flexibility to quickly and easily add audio context to lessons.
Recording voice-over
Voice-over is available on text and image cards, and you can record up to three minutes of audio per card!
Before you record, you'll be prompted to grant permission for Grovo to access your browser’s microphone. If needed, you also can always visit the browser settings to allow permission.
Once you begin recording, you can use the helpful progress bar to track your recording time. The progress bar will blink red when you reach the 30-second remaining mark.
Once you are happy with your voice-over, you can play it back or choose to redo the recording.
As the recorder, you can playback immediately after recording but for others, playback may take a few minutes to process as the media is uploaded.
Voice-over playback
Cards with voice-over playback like video cards, by displaying a progress bar at the bottom of the card and auto-advancing to the next card once complete.
Pro tip: When you upload a PowerPoint to Grovo the slides are converted into image cards. You can record voice-over on these image cards to add audio to your PowerPoint. Alternatively, see here for tips on narrating a PowerPoint.
